The best value ever. I’m budget conscious, but went out of my comfort zone to pay for expertise – and wow! Having the local knowledge on precise cycling routes makes a huge difference. And the accommodations were wonderful. A truely exceptional experience with warm, friendly and knowledgeable service. I will be booking more.

Everything was so good! Accommodations were excellent. MTB Portugal is a great bike shop. Went to a recommended restaurant every night and completely satisfied. Route was super interesting, kinda hard but worth it.

It was a very beautiful easy bike ride for two oldies on e-bikes. Some of the arrangements got changed at late notice which was annoying at the time but all turned out well. We opted for the four days cycling rather than five and we regret that now. We might well do it again. Easily the most beautiful bike ride we have done.

A great trip! Varied roads, beautiful coastal views, and scenic/historic towns. Accommodations were very nice and the breakfasts were wonderful – not our typical standard! The GPX app worked perfectly and was very helpful in some out-of-the-way locations (and in towns with quirky alleys). Pre-trip info was appreciated and very helpful. Tom was in touch before and throughout the trip with helpful information and provided support when needed… as well as some good-humored comments. Even shared some thoughts on the Algarve after our trip had concluded and we were in the Lagos area. Hope we didn’t overload Tom with photos of our trip… Portugal is a very photogenic country! The whole tour was very well curated and we had a blast. This was our first-ever bike trip in Europe (and first using a bike tour company), and you made it a wonderful experience. We would certainly use Rooster again and have already recommended it to others. Thanks for an excellent journey!

Here are a few other pieces of feedback, not intended to take away from the excellent overall experience:
– The bike shop in Lisbon opened up later then expected – perhaps because our departure was on a Sunday, a day the shop would normally be closed. This meant we weren’t on the road until almost 11:00, and it really short-changed our time in Sintra… a hoped for highlight of the trip. As a suggestion, we wonder if bikes could be fitted and organized the day before, and then simply picked up the next morning. That would allow an earlier departure on Day 1. (Part of this was also due to a late-season departure date… meaning less daylight for exploring Sintra… and not much to be done about that!)
– We had mentioned this to Tom earlier, but one of our bikes had front derailleur issues. The bike shop worked with us via WhatsApp for an on-the-road adjustment, which helped a bit but not enough. We later took it to a bike shop and the bike tech worked on it for an hour, but still not quite right. Ultimately, Lisa rode the entire trip in the small chain ring. Given that we weren’t trying to set any speed records, not really an issue – but a good lesson for us (and maybe an encouragement you could add to Rooster’s pre-trip notes) to be sure to run through all the gears and give the bikes a good once-over. We were more focused on seat height, helmet fit, and getting all the other bits (repair kit, locks, etc.) before we departed.
– We loved our accommodations! The locations, hosts, room quality of the inns/hotels, and superb breakfasts were really great. So this is a small-potatoes suggestion: after 9 days on the road and doing “sink laundry” it would have been nice to be someplace with a washing machine to give our clothes a good clean-up prior to packing up (and, for us, continuing our Portugal trip). That said, our host in Porto was fantastic… so that would be a dilemma…
— Again, none of these last bits are not critical, just some thoughts. Thanks again for a great time in Portugal and all your support!

We had an excellent experience with Rooster Bike Tours doing the gentle Loire Valley adventure. The bikes were great and the navigation was easy to follow. Looking forward to our next experience with Rooster already!

What a terrific way to experience the Loire Valley! Each town was more impressive than the next, the many chateaus and museums were well marked on the GPS. The GPS worked well mostly – we each had different directions at times but we made it work. Only problem was that some way marks (chateaus) were closed when we wizzed by too early in the morning. One flat tire was the only bike issue and we got that fixed in just a few minutes. The bikes – Scott Gravel were great – heavier than we are used to but worked very well for this trip. Accommodations exceeded our expectations and were better than we have experienced on other cycling trips (not Rooster). Awesome breakfasts! Tom Cullen, our coordinator was terrific. Patiently coached us on how to get from Paris to Orleans by train(s)after our long flights to France. He checked in just to make sure we were doing well and we felt very looked after. Thank you Tom for your guidance! Highly recommend this particular tour and Rooster.

This trip was excellent from start to finish. Tom was incredibly responsive to all our questions, before and during the trip. The route was well planned and was a beautiful combination of quiet country roads and gravel paths, plus the occasional divided bike path. The accommodations were very good and most were great. The bikes were solid and when we had a minor technical problem it was seamlessly dealt with by friendly bike techs at a local store in the town we (luckily) pulled into (props to Ticket to Ride and Ben Nevis Bikes). An outstanding way to see a beautiful part of the country.

This was the trip of a lifetime! The routes were a gentle weave through medieval villages, larger towns and miles of apple orchards, sunflower fields and fragrant vegetable farms. The Rhine River and Lake Constance were never far. Accommodations were comfortable hotels with excellent service and beautiful grounds, walkable to restaurants and shops. So much fun! We can’t wait to plan our next trip

Overall fantastic trip – beautiful, unique castles, wonderful food and relaxed biking terrain. Bike provided was excellent.
Minor issues: first day was a bit to much for me >70 Km of bike with 20,000 steps seeing two amazing castles – after that the pacing was perfect. tours of vineyards we early in the morning – tough to bike 45 km after you have just done a few wine tastings (no easy fix to that). Recommended restaurants were often a problem – either fully booked on Friday and Saturday night, or not open on Sunday/Monday. Suggest planning restaurants ahead of time (I did not do that).
Again these were minor issues – highly recommend this tour!

We had a really great trip. Rooster Bike tours provided excellent support, were very responsive to any queries and provided an excellent information pack. The cycle route from Passau to Vienna is beautiful with good quality cycle paths and nice variety of scenery. The GPX navigation app, OSMAnd, was excellent and made the journey very easy. The hotels chosen by Rooster Bike were of a very good standard and we found all hotel staff to be very helpful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this trip with Rooster Bike Tours.

My son and I did this trip. Route was beautiful, inns were all really nice and had incredibly nice innkeepers. Logistics were seamless. Tom and his crew are great to work with. I can’t wait to do another tour with Rooster.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cycling trip along the Danube with another couple visiting beautiful villages and towns along the very scenic route. Excellent recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing were offered along the way. Accommodation was a high standard at all times with a lovely hearty breakfast to set us up for the day! Our luggage was seamlessly transported to each new accommodation. Would highly recommend this cycling tour!

The trip was amazing. The communication was great. We had a slight hiccup with not being given helmets at the start but Tom organized a pickup the next day. The luggage transfer was efficient- couldn’t have done it without the option! The accommodation was good and got even better each night!! The bike track was good and varied scenery each day. Even had warnings of a predicted thunderstorm one day with options if using a train – made it just before the rain!!! Highly recommend to anyone. Should have brought gel seats though😜. Also. Recommend Bodensee Therme at Überlingen after a hard days ride!!

We booked the 6-day Moderate Highlands self-guided bike tour from Inverness to Oban. Rooster Bike Tours was easy to work with and very professional. Everyone, includingTom at Rooster, the guest house hosts and our bike fitter at the bike rental shop, were all a pleasure to work with or stay with. The route directions were good and the variety and locations of the guest houses we stayed at were all very enjoyable. Tom always checked in with us each day to make sure all was good. We would definitely use Rooster Bike Tours again.

We enjoyed the cycle trip. Accommodations were very comfortable and food was great. Would definitely recommend taking the e-bike option! First 2 days in particular were very tough on a manual bike.

We really enjoyed the 7-day bike ride through the Loire Valley in France. The best part for us was the easy riding on practically empty roads and trails. Being out in the countryside was peaceful and beautiful. It was easy riding with plenty to stop and see along the way. On one day we visited four chateaus! We have to give a great shout-out to the maps Rooster Bikes provides. They were clear and easy to follow. The bikes worked perfectly and we had plenty of room in the panniers for rain jackets and snacks and more. We were very pleased with the hotels. Amazing how great the locations were: right next to the landmarks and a block or so to the restaurant areas. This made it easy for us to walk around everywhere once we arrived at our hotel. The breakfasts were great and the rooms amazing. We couldn’t really ask for any improvements. Thank you, Rooster Bike Tours for a wonderful and peaceful vacation.

What a wonderful experience for me and my family! There were six of us total, all different ages and athletic ability (one pregnant), and the e-bikes were a fantastic way to see the Loire Valley! Every single one of the overnight accommodations and breakfasts were better than expected, and our hosts were all incredible. Our luggage beat us there each day, so we could shower and get ready for dinner right away! Having the support of the Rooster team throughout the trip made site-seeing (and sipping good wine) our only priority/concern! We will absolutely be booking another e-bike tour with Rooster. The toughest part will be deciding where to go next!

I loved the changing scenery from Ravenglass to Tynemouth: woodland and waterfalls, estuaries, heather covered hillsides, welcoming small villages, historical sites, excellent accomodation and an incredibly organised tour with regular supportive check ins.

We had an amazing trip! All the places we stayed had great food, friendly staff, and beautiful rooms! Everyone responded quickly and were helpful when we had questions. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

We booked a 5-day self-guided bike tour from Inverness to Oban with Rooster. We were very pleased since we’d never booked a tour company before. Tom was a great contact who could answer our questions promptly. Rooster’s bike company partner, Ticket to Ride, was exceptionally helpful. The route posed no major navigational problems and the accommodations were excellent. We had a wonderful time.

Very good trip. Good communication when needed. Only criticism is lodging in Hard Austria, nice but staff ill equipped. Also, could be in a better location as not really near much. Bike supplier Kultur Radke was fabulous. Will use Rooster again when appropriate route may be available(Mosele Valley?)

We did the 8 day gentle cycling trip in the Loire Valley. Thoroughly enjoyed. Rooster ensured we were booked into fabulous accommodations, bikes were in good condition and maps very clear and easy to follow. We loved our holiday. Highly recommend.

It was a nice trip through a part of Portugal that we would not have visited otherwise.
Aveiro was stunning.
Some of the cycle tours were very beautiful, others suffered from motorized traffic.
Two hotels were nice, one was mediocre, one was our best hotel ever: Hotel do Alboi in Alveiro.

I recently completed the Hadrian’s Wall Tour with Rooster Bike Tours, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The route was beautifully designed, taking me through some of the most stunning countryside I’ve ever ridden. I especially appreciated the quiet country lanes—they allowed me to enjoy the ride without worrying about heavy traffic and really take in the peaceful atmosphere.

The hotels selected along the route were excellent, each offering a comfortable place to relax after a day in the saddle. The historical aspect of the tour was another highlight. Riding alongside Hadrian’s Wall and visiting the Roman sites brought the history of the region to life in a way that simply isn’t possible from a car or bus.

We had a grand trip on the Seven Day Challenging ride in the Lake Constance area. Beautiful way to see the area. Detailed digital itinerary was great. We found the tour more challenging mentally than physically due to our difficulties with the navigation system. Good and timely support from Tom; smooth luggage transfer; lovely evening accommodations. We are road cyclists and found the e-bikes a bit cumbersome but suited for the route. We would certainly recommend Rooster for supported cycling tours.

We had a fantastic holiday! The trip was so well organised and the accommodation was excellent. Lake Konstanz is a beautiful area for an active family holiday. Tom at Rooster Bike Tours did a great job organising our trip and everything went very smoothly – bike hire, route maps, daily transfer of luggage and accommodation.
Lake Konstanz and the Rheinfall areas were magical – we had fantastic weather and got to experience the amazing scenery of the lake, river, mountains and lake towns (in particular the Altstadts) to its full potential. Would highly recommend this holiday and Rooster Bike Tours as your holiday partner. The only thing I might change if I did the trip again would be to swap the push bike for an electric bike!!

Great trip. Rooster was easy to deal with and quicker than to answer any questions. Route was outstanding and various Guest Houses were top notch.

The bike path was generally off of busy roads and you got to see a variety of landscapes. The path was very safe and easy to bike. Some of our hotels did not align with the path description but it was generally easy to navigate to them. The hotels were just ok. Two of the nights were nice but the others were subpar. I would recommend the trip but I felt like using the service was not great value.

Everything worked brilliantly on our first ever cycling trip. It was a fantastic experience for my husband and myself. The bikes were brilliant. The sights we saw and the people we met were fantastic including a very enjoyable wine tasting in Wachau. Every day we were recommended different sights and while we didn’t get to all of them that was what we wanted . We enjoyed the journey not just the destination. First off, let me say Rooster did a great job communicating, and delivering the service that we expected. The less than 5 stars is not a reflection of their service – it was great. Our luggage transfer was seamless.
We had a 5 night stay in which 3 nights were in Konstanz, 1 in Lindau, and 1 in Schaffhausen. Konstanz, was our groups least favourite city, and the hotel we stayed in in Konstanz, was the least favourite hotel of the 3 in our stay. Consequently, returning there was always a little bit of a letdown. I suppose that could be a personal preference, but it was the consensus of the 6 people in our group.
Also, we found the Bodensee area in general a little on the busy side. Without a doubt, there are lots of beautiful sites, great food, the routing provided by Rooster was clear, and much of it on dedicated bike paths. We would travel with Rooster again, but for our group, we would probably look for a quieter area.

Went with our elementary-age child and had a blast. If we were to do it again, I would have added an extra night in 1-2 cities, especially in the hotel with the spa!

Excellent breakfasts every hotel!

We biked during a heat wave and adjusted by jumping in the lake 2x a day and adding gelato stops. Hotels were family friendly, but I would say most people biking were retirees or vacationers. Not many people under the age of 24 biking on the path except for when we arrived in towns. That said- Our little one found plenty of friends to play with at the beaches and playgrounds.

I would do this again! Rooster company was well respected and coordinated.

We loved the route selection and the lodging was great. We noticed other groups on similar trips, but most stuck only to the basic route. We are already looking ahead to another trip with Rooster.

Our tour of Lake Constanz with Rooster was one of the best I have done. The mapping was very easy to follow and the hotel picks were over the top.i would highly recommend Rooster for biking tours and cant wait to do another one myself

This was our first cycling holiday and we loved it! Cycling along the Danube was glorious. We had a mixture of E-bikes and manual, all were good new bikes.
The maps worked really well, accommodation was great, a mix of old and new, restaurant recommendations good and our luggage was always waiting for us. All went very smoothly.
We will certainly think about another cycling holiday with Rooster

We had a very good time. The route was excellent, the accommodation was (mostly) good. The gravel bikes we rented were excellent – but the equipment provided for the bikes was not to standard (tubes, repair kits etc.) and let us down a few times. Tom himself was a great communicator and did everything in his power to make this a great tour though. Be aware that while this is described a ‘6-day bike tour’, it only includes 4 designated days of riding – a little misleading we felt.

The trip was well-planned, and Tom was great about answering questions and communicating details for the trip. A beautiful route through towns, along some roads, and trails through more remote meadows so a good range of cycling experiences. We were very happy with accommodations and the sites along the route. We had a minor equipment issue with the bike, Tom communicated quickly about a resolution and made sure that we were well-equipped to complete the ride with minimal disruptions. We were very pleased with the information, service, and planning that went into the trip and would gladly book with Rooster again.

The trip was wonderful, we had a really great time. The area is fantastic, trails well marked and maintained, the distances just right when you consider how much it is to see on the way. We felt well taken care of by Rooster, despite never actually seeing anyone from the company. But the email/WhatsApp support worked very well (which brings up a crazy idea: are there humans on the other end, or just a very efficient AI bot 😉 ???). The accommodations are nice and bike-friendly, all with excellent breakfasts. Two of them were very eclectic BnB’s, worthy destinations on their own.

Two warnings:
-Route plans provided by Rooster end in a center of destination towns, not in the destination hotel. Use additional navigation towards the end to get to your accommodation.
-Except for two four star hotels on our route, all others were three stars or BnB’s, which in France means no elevators or AC. It was not a problem for us, but be prepared to carry your luggage to third floor, if needed.

Overall, highly recommended! We are looking for the next Rooster trip next year.

I did the Loire Valley 7 day moderate trip. Was something I wanted to do for a long time and finally went ahead as a retirement present to myself. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was a bit of an adventure as I’d never been on this kind of trip before. The routes were a mix of green-ways and rural roads so quite easy and relaxed, and short enough each day to allow time to stop here and there if desired. I passed through some lovely French countryside, pretty villages and towns and sampled nice French food and wine along the way. Was great to be able to concentrate on the cycling part and leave someone else take care of the logistics. Would thoroughly recommend such a trip to anyone who enjoys cycling, the open air, rural countryside, good food and wine.

We had a great time! The accommodation was well chosen and diverse which we enjoyed. Our route in Croatia was quite steep and hilly at times so we were grateful to have e-bikes to make it so manageable. The views from some of the roads were truly spectacular!
We had good support when we needed it. But most importantly feel we explored places we would otherwise never have seen.
I would recommend Rooster tours and definitely use them again.

Our Danube cycle trip exceeded our expectations. We mostly enjoyed nature’s sceneries and sounds by the river , the amazing Schlögen loop, the beautiful Wachau valley and its many villages and excellent wine tasting experience. We found Rooster Bike Tours tops on communication and on information and maps provided well before our trip started. We enjoyed our stay in a variety of pleasant hotels all providing a good breakfast. Our bikes and equipment were of the best quality.

The accommodations were fine, the map worked well and the bags were delivered as promised.
Their advice and response time was excellent for any inquiries on whats app.

This is a super trip. Flat for the most part and right beside the Danube in the main. Beautiful Austrian villages as you go through the Wachau valley. Really excellent bicycles well equipped with panniers etc. The hotels along the way were very good……clean, quiet and really good breakfasts. Tom from Rooster was really attentive and the pack received 3 weeks before departure was very comprehensive including detailed digital route maps and even included luggage tags !!……Highly recommended. Fantastic trip. It was challenging for some old guys but the scenery was great. Everything was well organized. Luggage arrived promptly at all locations and the B&B’s were very good. I would definitely recommend this bike tour for people that are seasoned bikers though.

We had an amazing trip from start to finish. We brought our own gravel bikes, and the entire experience exceeded expectations. The scenery was absolutely epic, and everything was incredibly well organised by the team. The hotels were excellent, and the information we received prior to the trip was clear and very helpful.
Each day offered varied and engaging routes, delivering exactly the level of challenge promised—demanding at times, but entirely worthwhile. Day 4, in particular, stood out for all of us, with some of the best scenery we have ever experienced. The views coming into Ston were truly unforgettable and will be hard to beat.
Overall, it was a fantastic and memorable experience, and we will definitely be planning another trip with Tom and the Rooster team.

This was our second bike tour with Rooster Bike Tours and I loved it even more than the first one that we took last year. The information that was sent to us included detailed descriptions of each day’s travels including suggested stops as well as restaurant recommendations. The GPS directions make navigating around the Loire Valley easy to do. Our accomodations exceeded our expectations- just gorgeous! Everything was incredible. Biking through the Loire Valley is a magical experience. There’s nothing like riding through vinyards and forests and then suddenly coming upon a stunning castle. The once or twice we ran into glitches, Tom responded to us almost immediately and was able to help solve our problem. Again, this trip was amazing in every way!

This was our very first cycling trip, so we were a little nervous going in. We had nothing to worry about. The logistics were completely seamless, communication was awesome, bikes were great, luggage transfers were perfect, and the accommodations were all well chosen and comfortable. The route through the Northumberland countryside was stunning.

Excellent experience from start to finish. While this is a popular area and many companies run similar tours, I chose Rooster because of the personal responsiveness of the owner, Tom. Others have mentioned this and it is true. From discussions beforehand about the route, to real time help with a small bike problem during, and follow up afterwards, Tom is simply outstanding. The tour is lovely – great scenery, easy navigation with the app they use, good quality ebike and lovely hotels. Even though the towns were busy, at least at the start of June, the route was quiet and hugely enjoyable with some interesting places to visit along the way. . All in all, brilliant.

Our cycling trip through Scotland exceeded every expectation! From the very beginning, Tom was incredibly helpful, patiently answering questions and ensuring we felt prepared and excited for the journey ahead. The routes were spot on—challenging enough to be rewarding while still allowing us to fully appreciate everything around us. Every day brought breathtaking views, and the Scottish scenery was beyond beautiful, from rolling hills and dramatic coastlines to picturesque countryside that seemed straight out of a postcard.

We had a great time on the Loire Valley Gentle trip! Rooster Travel provided a detailed and easy to follow itinerary. Their luggage transport worked flawlessly. The accomodations were comfortable and welcoming, ready to tuck our recumbent trikes away safely for the night. Bike storage was great, all secure, easy to access and equipped with charge points for our use. Breakfasts were over the top good!

Tom at Rooster Travel was a great partner, ready to answer my questions anytime, even late in the evening. The routes were wonderful. We enjoyed stopping at waypoints to see chateaus, museums and natural wonders like the troglodyte caves we rode through at Souvay. The Loire, Cher, Indre and Viennese Vallies are all lovely, a pleasure to cycle through. We would book with Rooster Travel again in a minute and highly recommend them to all.

We had a fantastic trip! We loved Croatia and Montenegro, and the biking was incredible. The routes were beautiful, enjoyable, and well planned. The people we worked with in Croatia were helpful, and all of our transfers went smoothly. Most of the accommodations were excellent, with the exception of one night in Kotor. Rooster Bike addressed the issue quickly and efficiently by arranging a stay at another hotel. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

I just came back from the 5-day Moderate ride in the Scottish Highlands. It was epic. Amazing landscapes, terrific meals, and comfortable lodging. The pace — about 25 miles a day — was just right, giving me the flexibility to take my time whenever I wanted to stop and explore. The Scots are very hospitable. I traveled alone on the road but never felt lonely. It was easy to strike up a conversation with other travelers or innkeepers. Highly recommend.

Rooster Bike Tours does such a great job of taking care of their riders! The communication with them was exceptional right from the first inquiry I made and all the way to the end. The navigation is really easy to understand and made the trip much less stressful. We particularly enjoyed each of the hotels we were booked in. They were smaller, personal and very charming. All in all we had a wonderful time and look forward to booking another trip in the very near future!

We had a great time on this cycle tour. It was quite challenging but we really enjoyed visiting so many amazing places. The communication from Rooster was generally good, and with the exception of one stay, the accommodation was lovely! The parts in Croatia and Montenegro were especially nice but we did find the routes in Bosnia quite desolate, and the views less scenic. Would still recommend and we look forward to exploring more places in the future

despite having some navigation issues we thoroughly enjoyed our ride around Lake Constanz and to the Rhine Falls. Tom was always fully available to sort out any issues in the best of ways. The towns we had for overnight stays were excellent as were the hotels, plus Tom’s recommendations for eating out. Well done Tom.

Fantastic 7 day cycling trip through Croatia (and surronding countries).

From the first engagement with Tom, the experience was excellent. Great communication and well planned … so we knew exactly what we were doing. Then from the moment we started in Dubrovnik, it all worked seamlessly. 6 super interesting (and differnet) overnight stays and the routes were thoughtfully constructured to showcase what is a stunning part of the world.

The scenery is stunning on this trip really quite majestic in many places and some of the best I have ever cycled in. Our bikes were excellent and the accommodation ok. There is a fair amount of off-road in the first couple of days, either on canal paths or tracks.

We had a wonderful time with Rooster! They did a great job taking care of all the details: bike rentals, off road bike routes, cute hotels in the center of the towns, stops along the way. Tom, our point of contact, was incredibly responsive and supportive throughout the booking and on trip experience. I’d highly recommend!

We had a fabulous time on our “gentle” bike trip along the coast in Portugal. It was just beautiful, and the lodging was just right in each town we stayed in. Tom was very responsive to any questions or needs during the trip. We would absolutely recommend Rooster for anyone who wants to explore a new place by bicycle.

Rooster Tours know how to treat its customers right. My wife and I just finished the Danube Cycle Path Tour with Rooster. We did the same tour thirteen years ago with another company. It was a completely different experience. Rooster provided us with trouble free, wonderful bikes. Every place where we stayed was a little bit of Paradise. Either the staff was friendly to the max or the property itself was first rate. The best place we stayed was in Durnstein where we spent the night at the best place in town. Hotel Richard Lowenherz has to be seen to be believed. Historical treasures at every turn. Tom Cullen at Rooster even called one of the hotels along our route to see if we arrived safely. Thinking of biking the Danube? You can trust Rooster.

We had a great time. Tom was excellent about responding to emails and the accomodation was very good. A complete mix of styles, from completely wild modern interiors with wall paper that you wouldn’t want a migraine with to serene and calm. The breakfasts varied from good to excellent and all the hosts (bar one) were delightful and very helpful. Bikes were easy to use and the hotels were all very well equipped to have and charge the bikes overnight.

The tour itself was absolutely fabulous, very pretty and if wildlife is your thing you won’t be dissappointed, Nightingales, Turtle Doves and Golden Orieles to name but a few and stunning wild flowers, woodlands, rivers and meadows. The 4 towns were varied and each had its’ own merits.

My one complaint would be the Apps!! Downloading the App for the routes was so complicated and frustrating. Also having to download another App for the parking in Tours, maybe Tom you could book the cars in (beware of height restrictions) and add it to the bill?.

Having said all that I would highly recommend this tour it was beautiful and once we got underway it was plain sailing (or should I say cycling!). Thank you Rooster Bike Tours we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Wow! What an amazing experience!! We just completed our first ever 7-day bicycle journey around Lake Constance organized by Rooster Bike Tours and highly recommend both the tour and the company. Tom at Rooster is a real rock star who answered all our questions promptly, shared well-considered pointers, and helped accommodate our requests along the way. Ralf at the Kultur Rädle bike rental company in Konstanz also provided excellent service.

We chose the ‘gentle’ approach with just 15-42 km per day to allow for plenty of time to see the sites along the way. Our tour took us through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with fabulous accommodations in the heart of historic districts, delicious buffet breakfasts, attentive staff, and seamless luggage service.

The downloadable maps provided by Rooster were clear and easy to follow. The lakeshore route was simply breathtaking! Biking at our own pace meant we could hear the birds, smell the spring flowers, stop for a picnic, and feel connected to the rural and city scapes we were visiting. We were incredibly fortunate with the clear skies and perfect biking weather.

This trip has given all of us a lifetime of memories ~ as well as set our sights on future cycling adventures. If Rooster Bike Tours has more tours on offer at our next destination, we would not hesitate to sign up again!!

Injury-related cancellation! Two days before our flight to Lisbon, I tore my meniscus. It quickly became clear that a cycling tour was impossible under these circumstances, so surgery was necessary! Tom supported us in every way, and we received a partial refund of the cancellation fees. Many thanks for that. We will reschedule the 10-day tour to Porto for next year. Really fun trip. Biking the Danube Cycle Path was an awesome way to get to explore lots of small towns. We ate well and found some wonderful little hikes and friendly folks along the way. All of the lodging arrangements were excellent and included really fantastic breakfasts. I highly recommend!

This was our first bike trip and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Tom did a great job booking everything for us. We loved all of the accommodations and the route.
We even had one rider that couldn’t finish the last day and he quickly and efficiently took care of it, ensuring the bike was picked up and the hotel was ready early for her. We appreciated the seamless and professional execution.
We are already looking to book another one next year with them!

Everything about this trip seemed to go as smoothly as possible. Tom was very helpful and kind when setting it up and communicating through the process. The trip itself felt as though I was riding through a storybook setting. The bed-and-breakfasts were very hospitable and charming.. Woodside Inn in Lewiston was our favorite. They even took her bags up into our room. Which was so kind after a long day of riding. If you were to do this trip in September, I would suggest bringing very warm gloves as ours got wet and cold.

We booked our biking trip through Rooster Bike Tours from NZ and the communication was great, answering queries quickly and concisely. The actual biking experience was up to expectations and a couple of early biking issues were quickly resolved. We would not hesitate to use Roosters again.

We had a great time. Organisation was good, we had perfect weather, mostly sunny, no rain. The cycling paths are very good and easy to find. The accommodations were good and most of the times very good. All together we had a very nice biking holiday.

We had a great time. The route took us along the beautiful coast for several days and inland to Coimbra on the last day. Most days there were places along the route to stop to get a light lunch. Other days we picked up food at the start for a picnic along the way. Baggage pickup/delivery was flawless. Accommodations were convenient and comfortable.

I felt a great sense of accomplishment after this trip. Even though it was rated “gentle,” I had to push my bike up some of the hills! There is definitely a fair amount of mountain biking on this trip. I would recommend renting the mountain e-bike if you are not used to climbing hills. Make sure to request a mirror for safety. I especially loved riding along the Caledonian Canal and stopping to view the sites or chat with hikers. I may search for future “canal rides,” as they seem to be more my speed. The accommodations were comfortable, and the breakfasts were excellent. The guest house hosts and hotel staff were friendly and generous. We had a great time.

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour in the Loire Valley of France booked through ‘Roosters’. We were two couples on an Independent Tour. Our detailed on-line map took us past most of the attractions to see along the way, from Chateaux’s to biking through lovely villages and many other wonderful places to visit. Tom from Roosters was available at all times if we needed assistance in any way. If we head that way again sometime to do another bike ride, I would definitely choose Roosters again. Thanks Tom.

We did the 6 day Danube River cycle tour and it was incredible! It was evident lots of detail and consideration was put into the itinerary. The hotels were great (loved that they all conveniently included breakfast), the bike paths were safe and easy to follow- as well as the GPS app. Our luggage arrived before us every day creating stress free arrivals. Communication was extremely efficient and timely. Each day brought new sights, and surprises and we would definitely recommend this tour!

My boyfriend and I were so last minute on finding this trip and Tom Cullen at Rooster had us set up and ready to go with less than a month’s notice. Everything was well organized and our bikes were perfect. We opted for the advanced tour and our days were long and beautiful, 78-110km per day. It was a picturesque wonderful 6 days of coffee and castles and sunflower fields and beautiful old towns and that beautiful Loire River guiding us the entire way. The hotels were quirky and comfortable and the breakfasts delicious. Thank you Rooster!!!

I only tried 2 of the restaurant recommendations as there were so many options but where I tried were authentic although not used to solo women travellers. Let’s get cycling!! I felt safe throughout.

We had a super time on this trip from 20th May to 24th May with Rooster Bike Tours. Right from the completion of our booking, Tom was always available on WhatApp for queries/clarifications etc – both before we left Ireland and when we were at the Lake. He provided an excellent package of information which included good restaurants from cheaper ones to more premium ones. All the hotels pre-booked were top class. Luggage transferred seamlessly each day. We have hired bikes on many holidays but the bikes we took from Kultur-Radle in Konstanz (as part of our Rooster Bike Tour Booking) were top class with water proof panier bags supplied. We probably should have booked an 8 day trip because we were able for a few more days on the bike but we did rent bikes near the Rhine Falls (on our own bat) after the Rooster tour. My husband and I completed the 7-Day Self-Guided Danube bike tour in May. We had an incredible time. The folks at Rooster Bike Tours were very receptive to our questions and always got back to us in a timely matter. The material that they provided before our trip was extensive. Not only did we receive excellent navigational instructions but hightlights of places to see along our route as well as restaurant suggestions in each town we stayed. All of our lodgings were spacious (which in Europe is not always the case). The scenery on our route was stunning. Our bikes were in excellent condition too! All in all- I am already looking ahead to other self-guided tours we can take with Rooster in the future!

From early planning of our Scottish Highlands self guided tour through return of the bikes on the last day, Rooster Tours was exceptional. The route was very well planned, gpx files were perfect, accommodations were excellent, luggage arrived on time without fail, the bikes worked beautifully and were just right for the terrain, and Tom kept in close contact. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Absolutely killer logistics. We just did a self guided Scottish Highlands tour and it was flawless. One way you can tell they are good is that whenever we showed up somewhere and said we were with Rooster it brought out the big smiles. Communication was excellent with spot-on local knowledge and gentle warnings as events in front of us unfolded. The route took us through a huge unrelated event but we knew what was coming and it only added to the adventure.

I am in my 70’s and a first time solo cyclist. I was looking for a leisurely ride on Portugal’s Atlantic coast. From start to finish I felt supported by Rooster Bike Tours. In good time before the ride they sent an easy-to-read daily schedule, with thoughtful suggestions about getting to and from the airport and the ferry ride I would need to take, addresses and phone numbers for the interesting guest houses they had booked.  The rental bike was in excellent condition. Rooster was an attentive WhatsApp call away at any moment if I ran into trouble and needed help. My only anxiety was about depending on the offline map app, and I’ve flagged getting an easy to understand video tutorial made for someone clueless like me. Now I know I can do it with Rooster’s help, I’ll do it again.

As someone who doesn’t even cycle to the shops, I was amazed at how much I enjoyed this trip! The Danube Cycle Path was flat, scenic, and dotted with bakeries where I overindulged. Thanks to the clear maps, I never got lost, even with my questionable sense of direction. Reaching Vienna felt like a real achievement—celebrating with a huge plate of schnitzel was the perfect end.

I never thought I’d enjoy cycling so much. My partner and I took this trip for a change of pace, and it delivered. We laughed at how many pastries we ate “for energy” but still managed to reach Vienna on schedule.

I can’t stop raving about this tour! As a solo traveler, I wanted adventure but also some guidance, and Rooster Bike Tours delivered. Cycling through Oban, Glenfinnan, and Fort Augustus was a dream. Cycling the Danube Cycle Path was a once in a lifetime experience, and Rooster Bike Tours made the logistics easy. The accommodations were great. However, one of the bikes provided had a faulty gear that started acting up halfway through the trip. While the support team was quick to deliver a replacement, it disrupted part of my afternoon ride. Despite this inconvenience, the rest of the trip was fantastic. I particularly loved cycling through the Wachau Valley and stopping for wine tastings and apricot treats. Rooster’s attention to detail was evident, even if a bit more thorough bike checks would’ve been appreciated. I’d still recommend this tour wholeheartedly!
