Cycling from Lisbon to Port was an incredible experience, with stunning coastal views and charming villages along the way. However, one of the hotels felt more like a budget stopover than the cozy guesthouses we’d enjoyed earlier on the trip. It wasn’t a huge issue, but it was noticeable compared to the other accommodations. That said, the bikes were fantastic, and the route instructions were clear and easy to follow. Rooster Bike Tours did an excellent job overall, and I’d definitely recommend this trip.

However, the luggage transfer on one day was delayed by several hours, which disrupted our evening plans. Thankfully, the team was responsive and quick to apologize. Despite that hiccup, I loved exploring Obidos and Nazaré, and the daily rides were well-paced. The GPS provided worked perfectly, and the food along the way was phenomenal. Overall, a great trip with just a small inconvenience.

We had a great time. The route took us along the beautiful coast for several days and inland to Coimbra on the last day. Most days there were places along the route to stop to get a light lunch. Other days we picked up food at the start for a picnic along the way. Baggage pickup/delivery was flawless. Accommodations were convenient and comfortable.

I am in my 70’s and a first time solo cyclist. I was looking for a leisurely ride on Portugal’s Atlantic coast. From start to finish I felt supported by Rooster Bike Tours. In good time before the ride they sent an easy-to-read daily schedule, with thoughtful suggestions about getting to and from the airport and the ferry ride I would need to take, addresses and phone numbers for the interesting guest houses they had booked.  The rental bike was in excellent condition. Rooster was an attentive WhatsApp call away at any moment if I ran into trouble and needed help. My only anxiety was about depending on the offline map app, and I’ve flagged getting an easy to understand video tutorial made for someone clueless like me. Now I know I can do it with Rooster’s help, I’ll do it again.
